Animal Geeks is the podcasting homepage of Duncan, Kate, Xanthe, Harriet and Monty Smith. We are a family team producing weekly podcasts about the weird and amazing world of animals. The family have spent the last four years living and sailing onboard Rockhopper, a 48 ft cutter in the South Pacific.
Duncan is a veterinarian, offshore sailor and lover of all things creepy and crawly.
Harri is nine and loves marine mammals and anything venemous or poisonous.
Monty is Harri’s bug mad little brother and often crops up when the topic features anything slimy or small.
Xanthe is twelve and loves Arthur Ransome, fishing and sailing.
Kate is a trained sound technician and does all the technical stuff, wrangles animals and children whilst wielding our Rode microphones, Gopro and Canon DSLR.
You can listen directly here and subscribe to email updates so you know when a new podcast is out.
Technical details: We are on a steep learning curve, so please bear with us as we get our feed sorted. We are using Google feedburner and you can click the link on the right of the blog if you want to direct your podcatcher to us. Or search for us in iTunes or Stitcher. Old episodes will always be available here. Just click on the link in the relevant post and it will load in your browser window and play. Feedburner puts limits on the size of the feed, so will only display the last 7 or 8 episodes in iTunes.
